Colwyn Bay’s bustling town centre has familiar high street names, independent shops, great places to eat out, plus a popular weekly farmers’ market. Ten minutes from the centre is the peace and quiet of Nant y Glyn valley. And Eirias Park has a leisure centre, bowling green and indoor tennis courts. Head to the seaside to enjoy the clean sandy beach and designated jet-skiing area, and you can try off-shore angling from the pier when the tide’s in. Or head inland to see the Welsh Mountain Zoo.

Colwyn Bay is a town and seaside resort in Conwy county borough on the north Wales coast. The A55 road passes through it parallel to the North Wales Coast Line. Prior to local government reorganisation in April 1974 Colwyn Bay was a Municipal Borough with a population of c. 25,000, but in 1974 this designation disappeared leaving five separate parishes, known as communities in Wales. In the 2001 census the community of Colwyn Bay contained just 9,742 people, with the others as follows: Mochdre (1,862), Rhos-on-Sea (7,110), Old Colwyn (7,626) and Llysfaen (2,652). This gives a total figure for the five communities of 28,992, generally referred to as the population of Colwyn Bay.
